Patton Versus Rommel
Patton vs. Rommel is a computer war game designed and programmed by Chris Crawford, and published by Electronic Arts in 1987 for the Macintosh and DOS. The DOS version was adapted by Sculptured Software, and a Commodore 64 version was also created. After the success of Crawford's game Balance of Power EA wanted to work with him, but could not acquire the rights to sequel the game. Instead, they suggested he build on the tradition of his seminal Atari title Eastern Front. Rather than create a derivative game on the Western Front, Crawford elected to focus the game's design on fog of war and the personalities of American general George Patton and the German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.+++NEEDS DOSBOX TO RUN ON MODERN COMPUTERS+++

The Global Dilemma: Guns or Butter 1.0
In The Global Dilemma, your task is to manage the "global dilemma" --the conflicting needs of the military and industry-- by allocating the production of various commodities (e.g. using the iron ore to produce more weapons will decrease the amount of iron available for industrial goods) and managing the army to defend against/conquer the opposing kingdom. It was the first "wargame" I recall that focuses on the tradeoffs between war and peace that arises from limited resources (and in this sense the game is much more "realistic" than games like Civilization in which resources are unlimited). The computer AI on hard level is also one of the best for its time. Highly recommended. ++++NEEDS DOSBOX TO RUN ON A MODERN PC++++THE MANUAL (a PDF) IS INCLUDED!

Trust & Betrayal - Legacy of Siboot
The player, an alien creature named Vetvel, must compete with six other acolytes (each a different alien species) for the Shepherdship. Each of these characters has a distinct personality. Each morning, the acolytes wake up knowing one of each of the three "auras" the others possess. They must trade knowledge with each other in order to try to gain enough knowledge for the "mind combat" that takes place every night, which is basically a fancy Rock, Paper, Scissors game that depends on the aura counts for the players involved. The game is won when a player gets eight auras in all three categories. However, in giving away somebody's aura count, the player betrays that person, which angers them and may make them less likely to trade aura counts with the player. Therefore, a player has to know whom to trust and whom to betray, hence the title: Trust & Betrayal. NOTE: ++++++This game doesn't need Dosbox. It starts & runs perfectly in Windows XP SP3 (tested).+++++THE ORIGINAL MANUAL IS INCLUDED (a PDF file). To read it before playing this game is highly recommended+++++ have fun.
